How Many Wall Panels Do I Need?

Measure your wall before ordering from The British Manor. The quantity depends on panel width, wall height, fitting direction and whether the product is sold individually or in packs.

For full-height panels fitted vertically

Divide the wall width by the panel's usable fitted width, using the same units, then round up to a whole panel. Check that the panel is tall enough for your wall.

Example: a 300cm-wide wall needs 5 panels if each panel covers 60cm in width. At 240cm high, that is 7.2m². This assumes straight fitting, no overlap and no extra cutting allowance.

Panel coverage and packs

A rectangular 240 × 60cm panel has a nominal area of 1.44m²; a 280 × 60cm panel has a nominal area of 1.68m². Tongue-and-groove joints can reduce usable coverage. Use the fitted coverage on your chosen listing where provided.

For products sold in packs, divide the panels required by the number in each pack and round up again. For example, 5 panels sold in packs of 2 require 3 packs, giving 6 panels.

Allow for cuts and layout

Draw your layout around doors, corners and sockets. Consider approximately 10% extra for straightforward layouts; complex patterns may require more. Check whether offcuts can be reused before ordering. Area alone may underestimate quantities where panel height or pattern direction matters.

If your wall is taller than the panels, plan the joints or choose a suitable taller product. Do not assume one vertical row will cover it.
